Filling a MedsCheck Prescription

Once a medication review is completed, you can proceed to filling a new prescription using the appropriate MedsCheck DIN to bill for the service.

To fill a MedsCheck prescription in PharamClik Rx:

  1. Select the Patient button to search for and select a patient.
  2. Select the 3rd Party tab.
    1. Verify that the patient has Drug Benefit as a third party plan.
    2. If the patient is a non-ODB recipient, add the DB bill code and make it inactive by performing these steps:
      1. Select the Add button. The Third Party Plan Search window opens.
      2. Search for and select the DB bill code. Select OK.
      3. Deselect the Active checkbox.
  3. Select the Profile tab.
  4. Select the New button. The New Prescription window opens.
  5. Specify the following fields:
    1. Drug—specify the DIN or name of the MedsCheck.
    2. Doctor—specify the Pharmacist who performed the MedsCheck.
    3. Qty Auth
    4. Qty
    5. SIG—MEDCP (short form for consultation provided by) Pharmacist Name(e.g. MEDCP Steve)
    6. Days Supl
  6. Select the Process Now button. The Drug and Mixture Search window opens.
  7. Select the correct MedsCheck DIN in the Records Found results.
  8. Select OK. The Doctor Search window opens.
  9. Select the appropriate Doctor in the Records Found results.
  10. Select OK. Rx Detail opens.
  11. Note: A PS (Professional Services) Intervention Code is automatically added in the Third Party tab.

  12. Select the Fill button. Result: This will bill for the appropriate amount to pay for the MedsCheck service.
